Norwood Seeks Artists To Decorate Town's Utility Light Boxes
NORWOOD, MA - The Norwood Cultural Council and the Norwood 150th Committee invite all local artists and designers to transform some of the town's utility light boxes into unique works of public art.
Light boxes sit on street corners and sidewalks, holding some the equipment for the town's public works department.
Interested artists can draw, sketch, paint, or compose on the computer an idea to be painted on a light box. An original, full-color design incorporating the theme of Norwood pride must be submitted by Friday, May 27, along with a title, description and a short paragraph describing why your piece should be chosen. To find out more details, and for a submission form, email norwoodlightboxproject@gmail.com.
This project is open to anyone with an idea, but preference will be given to people who live, attend school, or work in Norwood. If chosen, you'll be able to paint your vision directly onto the box during the warmer months. Artists will be given a stipend for time and materials.
